Module 1. Basic diagnosis of Traditional Chinese Medicine (10 hours)

A. What are exogenous pathogenic factors?

How can they invade human body?

How does Chinese Medicine help in expelling exogenous pathogenic factors?

B. What is vital-qi?

How does vital-qi defend human body from illness?

C. How are diseases being diagnosed by Chinese Medicine?

What are the four diagnostic methods?

What are the eight principal syndromes serving as guidelines in diagnosis?

What is exterior syndrome? What is interior syndrome?

D. What is the perspective of Chinese medicine in 5 viscera as compare to Western medicine?

What are the physiological functions of the 5-viscera?

E. How do you differentiate hot and cold body constitutions? Distinguish among body constitutions such as deficiency in yin, deficiency in yang, deficiency of blood, deficiency of qi, damp-heat, phlegm-dampness.

Module 2. Application of Chinese Medicine (10 hours)

A. What are the four natures of drugs? What are the five kinds of flavor of drugs?

What are rise, fall, sink, float refer to the nature of the drugs?

What is meant by Channel tropism?

B. How do we use different herbs to form prescription?

C. Clinical application and pharmacological action of herbs use to invigorating qi. Application of compound prescription for invigorating qi.

D. Clinical application and pharmacological action of herbs use to enriching the blood. Application of compound prescriptions for enriching the blood.

E. Clinical application and pharmacological action of herbs use to invigorating yang. Application of compound prescriptions for invigorating yang.

F. Clinical application and pharmacological action of herbs use to invigorating yin. Application of compound prescriptions for invigorating yin.

Module 3. Healthcare and self-medication by Traditional Chinese Medicine (10 hours)

A. Different categories of influenza and their treatments.

How to distinguish wind cold and wind hot type influenza.

How to distinguish treatment method: “relieving the exterior syndrome with drugs pungent in flavor and warm in property” and “relieving the exterior syndrome with drugs pungent in flavor and cool in property”.

B. Distinguish different types of cough.

How are different types of cough being treated probably?

How to distinguish wind-hot cough and wind-cold cough?

How to use herbs to dessolve phlegm?

How do we treat sore throat, hoarseness and oral dryness?

C. Self-medication of different types of epigastralgia by Chinese medicine, such as cardiac ache, stomach distention, hiccup, loss of appetite, constipation, and diarrhoea.

D. Self-medication of depression and insomnia.

Treatment and prevention of different types of insomnia.

Depression self-regulation.

E. Treatment and regulation of common women diseases such as: dysmenorrhea, massive uterine bleeding at irregular intervals, irregular menstruation, leucorrhoea and pruritus vulvas.

F. Treatment and prevention of pain in waist and lower extremitiesknee pain for adults.

Module 4. Health preserving by Traditional Chinese Medicine (10 hours)

A. Health preserving according to season.

B. Health preserving by dietary regimen.

C. How to improve body constitution to keep good health?

D. How to prevent illnesses

E. Utilization of tonic according to cold and hot body constitution.

How to regulate and nursing different types of body constitution such as deficiency in yin, deficiency in yang, deficiency of blood, deficiency of vital-qi ?

Using of drug in nursing damp-heat and phlegm-dampness.

F. How to regulate and improve body constitution such as exterior syndrome of deficiency (prone to influenza) and allergic body constitution (prone to asthma, rhinitis and eczema).

Module 5. Chinese medicinal cosmetology (10 hours)

A. Scope and contents of Chinese medicinal cosmetology.

B. Drugs to keep healthy skin, regulate and prevention of acne, and chloasma (pigmentation).

C. Treatment of hair loss by Chinese medicine.

D. Treatment of obesity by acupuncture and Chinese medicine.

E. Treatment of psoriasis & eczema by Chinese medicine.

Module 6. Foot reflexology-healthcare and treatment (10 hours)

A. Probable use of reflection zone at sole for healthcare.

B. Basic knowledge of foot reflexology.

C. Reflection zone for treatment, manipulation and indication.

D. Operational schedule of foot reflexology.

E. Characteristics of reflection zone of sole and its application to treat common diseases.
